Paris, France – Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan delivered a strong performance at the 2025 Paris Diamond League, running a season-best 12.24 seconds in the women’s 100m hurdles to finish second.

Amusan, the current world record holder in the event, surged late in the race but couldn’t overtake American Grace Stark, who took the win with a personal best and meet record of 12.21 seconds. Stark's time now ranks her as the fifth-fastest woman ever over the distance.

Jamaican athlete Ackera Nugent placed third in 12.30 seconds, rounding out a fast and competitive field.

The race in Paris marked another step forward for Amusan, who has steadily improved through the season. She started her 2025 campaign with two fourth-place finishes in China—first in Xiamen and then in Shaoxing. But momentum shifted in May when she claimed her first Diamond League win of the season in Rabat, Morocco, with a time of 12.45 seconds—a meet record.

Now in her fourth Diamond League appearance of the year, the 28-year-old is showing signs of top form as she targets major championships later in the season.

Amusan faced a stacked field in Paris that included global medallists and top-ranked athletes such as Keni Harrison, Ackera Nugent, Pia Skrzyszowska, Nadine Visser, Devynne Charlton, and current series leader Grace Stark.

With her latest performance, Amusan now sits fourth in the Diamond League standings with 10 points, behind Stark (23), Danielle Williams (15), and Marione Fourie (12). The race for qualification to the Diamond League final in Zurich remains wide open.
