LOS ANGELES - Hollywood icon Brad Pitt says he’s long learned to tune out the noise when it comes to public speculation about his personal life. After three decades of intense media scrutiny, the Oscar-winning actor says he now views it as little more than background static.
“My personal life is always in the news — or some version of it,” Pitt told GQ in a new interview published Wednesday. “It’s been in the news for 30 years, bro.”
The 60-year-old actor, currently promoting his upcoming race car drama F1, opened up about navigating fame and the emotional toll of being a constant media target.
“It’s always been this kind of nagging time suck or waste of time — if you let it be that,” he said. “But my life is fairly contained. It feels warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am.”
Pitt likened the endless headlines and speculation to a harmless but irritating distraction:
“It’s just this fly buzzing around a little bit.”
From Tabloid Target to Quiet Strength
Brad Pitt’s private life has been under the microscope since the 1990s, especially during his high-profile relationships. His decade-long partnership with actress Angelina Jolie, often dubbed “Brangelina,” captivated global audiences. The couple, who share six children, were married in 2014 but separated just two years later.
Their divorce was officially settled in 2023, ending an eight-year legal saga that had played out publicly. Reflecting on the moment, Pitt was understated:
“It wasn’t that major of a thing. Just something coming to fruition. Legally.”
However, their legal entanglements aren’t entirely over. Jolie and Pitt remain locked in a court battle over Château Miraval, the French winery they once co-owned and where they wed. Jolie sold her stake in the property, sparking a legal dispute that continues to unfold.
Staying Grounded Amid the Glamour
Despite the headlines, Pitt remains focused on the work that drives him — both on screen and behind the scenes as a producer. F1, his next project, sees him enter the fast-paced world of Formula 1 racing, a bold pivot even for a seasoned actor.
As for navigating fame, Pitt seems more centered than ever, grounded by close relationships and self-awareness — qualities that resonate across continents, particularly in Africa, where fans admire not only his talent but also his evolving maturity.
In a celebrity culture that often thrives on controversy, Pitt’s refusal to be consumed by the chatter is refreshing. In his words, the real power lies in knowing yourself — and letting the rest be just noise.
