Global Afrofusion powerhouse Burna Boy has revealed he is now warming up to the idea of fatherhood, a year after boldly stating he was not ready to have children.

During a vibrant toast at his 34th birthday celebration on July 2, 2025, Burna hinted that as he grows older, thoughts of raising a family have begun to weigh on his mind.

“Na so Jowizaza follow me talk the last time, I come dey think about my life. I don dey old oh, I for begin born pikin,” he shared in a heartfelt moment, drawing applause from close friends.

The Grammy-winning artist’s change of heart is a notable shift from his views in May 2024, when he told fans during an Instagram Live session that his demanding lifestyle was not suitable for children at the time.

“Why haven’t I had kids yet? Bro, because I don’t want to have kids yet,” he had explained back then, adding that he would rather wait until he could dedicate every moment to his children, just as he was loved by both his own parents.

“I know I can’t give that to anyone right now with the life I live… So when I’m settled and I can be there for my children every day, every single minute, every second, I’m not having no kid,” Burna had said with conviction.

He even joked with fans who teased him about supposed fertility issues, dismissing it with laughter:

“I see the bants in the chat talking about some impotent shit. Let’s even say it’s true that I can’t have any kids, have you not heard of IVF?”

Now, as Burna Boy turns 34, it seems a new chapter may be dawning for the superstar, who has continued to blaze a trail for Nigerian music on the world stage. Fans will no doubt be eager to see how this fatherhood journey unfolds for the African Giant.
