Grammy-winning R&B star Chris Brown is not here for the drama — on or off stage. During a recent stop on his 11:11 Anniversary Tour in Cardiff, Wales, the American singer halted his performance after being struck with a drink thrown from the crowd.

Brown was in the middle of performing his 2012 hit “Turn Up the Music” when the unexpected splash hit him directly. In footage that’s since gone viral, the artist abruptly stops the music, visibly upset, and addresses the audience:

“Do not throw any drinks on this motherf**king stage. That’s all I gotta say, alright?”

Moments later, the fan responsible — who claims it was an accident — was escorted out by security. In a now-deleted TikTok clip posted by the woman, she jokes about the incident, writing:
“POV: you accidentally threw your drink on Chris Brown and he got you kicked out.”
She’s seen giggling and mouthing “sorry” as Brown issues the warning.

But while the moment caused a stir online, it’s just one of the many headlines surrounding Chris Brown lately.

Legal Storm Brewing in London

Off the stage, Brown is facing serious legal troubles in the U.K. Just days before the Cardiff show, the singer appeared in London’s Southwark Crown Court on June 20, where he pleaded not guilty to a charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.

The case stems from a February 2023 nightclub altercation at Tape, an upscale venue in London’s Mayfair district. Brown is accused of attacking music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila, allegedly hitting him multiple times during the confrontation.

In addition to the GBH charge, Brown is also facing:

  • One count of assault, and

  • One count of possessing an offensive weapon.

He is expected to formally respond to those additional charges in a separate court hearing scheduled for July.

Brown’s co-defendant, rapper Omololu Akinlolu, known by his stage name Hoody Baby, has also pleaded not guilty to the same grievous bodily harm charge.

If convicted, both men could face between two to sixteen years in prison under U.K. law.

From Arrest to Bail

Brown was arrested in Manchester on May 15, just as he was preparing for his U.K. shows. He was initially denied bail but later released after posting a hefty $6.7 million bond. The charges were originally flagged in a civil lawsuit filed by the alleged victim prior to the criminal proceedings.

Chris Brown’s U.K. Tour Rolls On

Despite the controversy, Brown’s 11:11 tour continues across the U.K. — but the Cardiff incident shows just how high tensions are. With legal battles mounting and public scrutiny ever intense, fans are watching closely, both on and off the stage.
