Hugh Jackman might not have said a word, but Marvel fans are reading between the (biceps) lines after the Australian actor posted a silent Instagram video of himself lifting heavy at the gym — and the internet is convinced he’s back training for more Wolverine action.
Hugh Jackman might not have said a word, but Marvel fans are reading between the (biceps) lines after the Australian actor posted a silent Instagram video of himself lifting heavy at the gym — and the internet is convinced he’s back training for more Wolverine action.
The no-caption post had all the energy of a Marvel teaser trailer, and fans wasted no time decoding it. One top comment summed up the collective hype:
“Hope that’s for more Wolverine ” — and thousands couldn’t agree more.

Jackman, who famously "retired" the character after Logan, made a roaring return in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film. Now, with Avengers: Doomsday on the horizon and a growing list of X-Men actors returning to the MCU, many believe the 55-year-old isn’t done slicing up the screen.
“He might say he’s done, but that gym grind says otherwise,” one fan wrote.
The buzz isn't completely unfounded. With Disney+ housing Deadpool & Wolverine and teasing bigger MCU storylines, speculations are flying high. And if the rumors are true, Hugh might just be carrying more than dumbbells — he could be carrying the X-Men back into the spotlight.
Still, Jackman’s next official project is a musical drama titled Song Sung Blue, due this Christmas. But Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, now in production, is already drumming up excitement for its December 2026 release. And with Marvel boss Kevin Feige keeping cards close to his chest, anything could happen.
Until then, the claws stay sheathed — but that barbell lift might just be the biggest hint yet.
Wolverine fans, stay tuned.
