Iran’s Khamenei Warns of ‘No Mercy’ Toward Israeli Leadership

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has vowed a fierce and uncompromising response to Israel’s leadership following a wave of Israeli airstrikes that struck deep into Iranian territory, targeting nuclear, military, and civilian sites.
"The terrorist Zionist regime must face consequences. We will show the Zionists no mercy," Khamenei declared in a statement posted on X late Wednesday, signaling a sharp escalation in rhetoric and retaliation.
The Iranian leader’s remarks came just hours after former U.S. President Donald Trump issued a provocative call for Tehran’s “unconditional surrender,” while also making incendiary claims that the U.S. could eliminate Khamenei if necessary.
Tensions have soared in the region after Israel launched what analysts are calling its most extensive aerial offensive against Iran to date. The bombardment reportedly targeted strategic nuclear infrastructure and military bases, but also resulted in casualties in residential neighborhoods.
In response, Iran has fired a volley of missiles and drones at Israeli targets, with state media reporting the use of hypersonic weapons for the first time in the conflict.
The rapidly deteriorating situation has sparked alarm across the international community, with fears growing of a wider regional war involving multiple state and non-state actors.
