Leah Remini Clarifies Status of Friendship with Jennifer Lopez

Actress Leah Remini is clearing the air about her long-standing friendship with global superstar Jennifer Lopez, after years of speculation about a possible rift.
Once inseparable, the duo’s noticeable absence from each other’s recent life events raised eyebrows — especially when Remini was a no-show at Lopez’s wedding to Ben Affleck in 2022.
In a candid conversation with Us Weekly, Remini finally addressed the elephant in the room, offering clarity about where things currently stand.
“Right after the divorce, we’d text each other loving messages of support,” Remini revealed, referring to her split from husband Angelo Pagán in August 2024 — the same month Lopez reportedly filed for divorce from Affleck.
While the timing had some fans connecting dots, Remini insists there’s no bad blood.
“Sometimes you don’t talk to people every day like you used to, but that doesn’t mean the love is lost,” she said. “Friendships ebb and flow. That doesn’t mean we’re at odds.”
The King of Queens star also opened up about how her life has shifted since distancing herself from the Church of Scientology more than a decade ago. According to her, it’s been a time of retreat and reflection.
“I’m in a different place. I cherish my friendships, but not everybody is meant to stay in your life the same way forever,” she explained. “When you grow, you naturally move away from certain dynamics. That doesn’t mean there’s animosity — it’s just evolution.”
Remini emphasized that having space in friendships is normal and doesn’t always indicate a falling out.
