The thunderous heartbeat of Africa is alive, and its name is Live & Wavy. Far more than a concert series, this movement is rewriting the African musical narrative, reawakening the continent’s legendary live-band culture, and inspiring a generation to reclaim the artistry and authenticity of African sound. Powered by 10stringz Production, Live & Wavy has risen from its Lagos roots to become a continental and now global force — a celebration of African pride through music that refuses to be silenced.
What began on December 8, 2017, at Lagos’ Freedom Park, with Ric Hassani’s stirring headliner show, has transformed into a rallying cry for Pan-African musical excellence. Supported by performances from talents like Bez, Johnny Drille, Aramide, and YBNL Princess, that debut night offered a preview of the vision to come: a space where African music is performed, felt, and lived.
Live & Wavy expanded its magic in March 2018, once again igniting Freedom Park with Jeff Akoh, Iyanya, Ric Hassani, and a constellation of talents blending modern rhythms with heritage sounds. The mission was clear: restore Africa’s live-band tradition to center stage. By December 2018, the wave had rolled into Abuja, drawing a new audience into its musical embrace with a lively showcase at Indigo Sheraton Hotel, featuring Byno, Isaac Geralds, and a dash of comedy from Josh2Funny.
Legends Take the Spotlight
Live & Wavy took a bold step in 2023 by honoring the legends of African music. Rapper Erigga’s explosive show at Freedom Park opened the Legends Concert Series, reminding audiences that Africa’s musical roots still run deep. December 2023 brought a once-in-a-lifetime lineup with Faze & Friends, joined by icons like 2Baba, M.I Abaga, Ruggedman, Tony Tetuila, Blackface, and Duncan Mighty — an unforgettable homage to the architects of African sound.
December 2024 saw Sunny Neji & Friends headline a spectacular second Legends edition, joined by Daddy Showkey, Blackky, Ruggedman, and Jodie, weaving a story of resilience and cultural power through timeless hits. The momentum reached Abuja in May 2025, where The Playzone Arena vibrated to the voices of Sunny Neji, Blackky, Jeremiah Gyang, Jodie, and 6footplus, demonstrating that African classics still breathe fresh energy into new generations.
Keeping the Jam Sessions Alive
Through its Jam Session series, Live & Wavy has consistently nurtured emerging voices and fused contemporary genres with Africa’s enduring live-instrument culture. In 2019, Kunle Ayo & Friends kicked off this intimate experience, and by 2024 Salle & Friends and Dai Verse & Friends continued to light up Lagos with soulful, jazz-infused, and high-energy showcases.
A Global Leap — Africa on Tour
Now, with a 2025 UK tour in partnership with PG ARCOT, Live & Wavy is poised to export the continent’s rhythmic soul to the world. The tour will storm London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Bournemouth with three signature events: The Legends Concert headlined by Sunny Neji & Friends, The Jam Session with rising star Dai Verse, and the Odogwu Party with the powerhouse illbliss. Each stage promises an authentic taste of Africa’s vibrant spirit, amplified for an international audience hungry for real musical artistry.
The Pulse of a Movement
For African music lovers, Live & Wavy is more than a string of performances; it is a cultural movement that boldly declares: Africa’s music is alive, powerful, and ready for the world. From neighborhood stages in Lagos to the bright lights of the UK, the mission remains unshaken — to honor African artistry, showcase homegrown talent, and elevate the live-band experience that has always been the continent’s beating heart.
As Live & Wavy heads into its next chapter, one thing is undeniable: Africa’s musical wave is no longer local — it is global, unstoppable, and unashamedly wavy.
