Lagos – Nigerian rap icon Olamide has officially revealed the tracklist for his upcoming self-titled album, stirring major buzz across the Afrobeats world and beyond. The 17-track project is stacked with heavyweight collaborations — blending homegrown talent with global sounds.
Among the guest features are Nigerian stars Wizkid, Asake, Seyi Vibez, Young Jonn, BOJ, and Darkoo. International names also make a surprise appearance: legendary American producer and rapper Dr. Dre, Jamaican dancehall heavyweight Popcaan, UK-based Latino artist Daecolm, and Nigerian-born DJ SPINALL all contribute to the project.
This marks a new chapter for the Grammy-nominated rapper, whose career has spanned over a decade of hits, cultural influence, and industry-defining moments.
Singles Already Setting the Pace
Ahead of the full release, Olamide has dropped two singles that are already gaining traction. The latest, ‘99’, is a star-studded anthem featuring Asake, Seyi Vibez, Young Jonn, and Daecolm — a multi-genre blend that showcases Olamide’s ability to merge streetside energy with global appeal.
Before that came ‘Kai’, a playful Konto-inspired groove with Wizkid that sees the longtime collaborators trading verses about love, fame, and wealth. It’s a reunion fans have celebrated — another gem in their decade-long partnership.
Both singles set the tone for an album expected to blend sonic experimentation with lyrical maturity.
More Than Just an Album — It's a Statement
Olamide’s self-titled project will be his 11th solo album — a milestone few Nigerian artists have reached with such consistency. It follows Ikigai (2023), a reflective project that leaned into themes of purpose, identity, and artistic growth.
The rapper’s evolution from Bariga’s street lyricist to international ambassador of Afrobeats is reflected not just in his music but also in his impact as a label boss. Through YBNL, Olamide has mentored and launched careers of some of Nigeria’s most celebrated artists, including Fireboy DML, Asake, Adekunle Gold, and Lil Kesh.
A Legacy in Motion
More than just a celebration of longevity, the upcoming album cements Olamide’s status as one of the most influential African artists of his generation — a cultural shapeshifter whose voice continues to echo across dancefloors, street corners, and global playlists.
The album is expected to drop later this June.
