Olivia Munn is finally putting to rest years of swirling speculation over her role in NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ fractured family ties, clarifying that the persistent rumors of her involvement were never rooted in truth.

The Hollywood star, now married to comedian John Mulaney and mother to their child, addressed the longstanding fan theory during a candid conversation on the “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard” podcast. Munn, who dated Rodgers from 2014 to 2017, found herself under intense public scrutiny after Rodgers’ widely publicized estrangement from his family made headlines. Many speculated — unfairly, as Munn suggests — that she was the wedge between Rodgers and his relatives.

“There’s this whole big narrative that stayed with me for so many years, but there was just this dynamic in the family that had nothing to do with me,” the actress explained, revealing that she was deeply frustrated by the false perception of her as the catalyst for the family rift.

Although Munn admitted she does know details about the nature of Rodgers’ break with his family, she made it clear that those personal matters were not hers to disclose. “People have speculated for many years what was the rift, and I know, but I’m not saying because it’s not my story to tell,” she said firmly.

The rift in question became a national fascination in 2016 when Aaron’s younger brother, Jordan Rodgers, made it public during his appearance on The Bachelorette. Jordan revealed the family’s strained ties without going into details, and Aaron’s conspicuous absence from family segments of the show fueled even more rumors.

Munn explained that despite Rodgers himself pushing back on the claims that she was to blame, the conversation around her alleged involvement refused to go away. “It became this whole big thing, and people were like, ‘I can’t believe her, she’s keeping this family apart,’” she shared, reflecting on the burden of carrying that public misunderstanding for years.

She expressed gratitude that Rodgers eventually spoke out to deny those rumors, helping ease the weight of false accusations. “Even if people didn’t want to take hold of that statement, it made me feel good that it was said,” Munn added.

For years, the Rodgers family drama has been an unending source of fascination for the public and reality TV fans alike, as the brothers’ relationship stayed rocky long after The Bachelorette spotlight faded. But Munn’s latest remarks aim to close the chapter on the narrative that she had anything to do with the NFL star’s family divisions.

At its core, her message is a reminder that sometimes the truth of a family’s struggles belongs to them alone — no matter how much the outside world demands to know.
