The City of Angels was set ablaze with style and swagger as global Black excellence converged for the 25th edition of the BET Awards, marking a major milestone in celebrating Black creativity, music, and culture.
From the motherland to the diaspora, stars stepped out in full splendour, draped in bold fabrics, glittering gowns, and designer elegance to grace the red carpet at this year's historic event. Industry trailblazers like Jermaine Dupri, R&B legends Ashanti, Amerie, Mýa, and Rayven Lenae, along with beloved actresses Tia Mowry and Tisha Campbell, brought glamour, confidence, and culture to the spotlight.
But this wasn’t just about fashion. It was a celebration of legacy. The night promised powerful performances from icons and rising stars alike. Lil Wayne, the five-time GRAMMY-winning rap legend, was set to light up the stage, while the fierce and fearless Teyana Taylor geared up for what was dubbed a “one night only legendary performance.” Crowd-favourites GloRilla, Leon Thomas, and the ever-enigmatic Playboi Carti rounded out the performance lineup.
Kendrick Lamar leads the nominations with 10 nods, continuing to prove his lyrical dominance. Drake, Doechii, Future, and GloRilla follow closely with six nominations each. Producer of the moment Metro Boomin secured five, while chart-toppers SZA and The Weeknd received four apiece.
As the stars gather under LA’s golden skies, the BET Awards once again remind us why this show is more than just an event — it’s a celebration of Black power, pride, and performance.
