Grammy-winning Nigerian music sensation Tems has warmed hearts online after gifting ₦3 million to a fan who hand-crafted an intricate crocheted portrait of her — a gesture that has been widely celebrated across social media.

The fan, identified as Odum Ifeoluwa, had spent over 70 hours carefully stitching a black-and-white tapestry of the “Essence” singer to mark her one-year anniversary of learning how to crochet. She shared a video of the process on X (formerly Twitter), hoping her idol might catch a glimpse.

“I hope @temsbaby gets to see this… after 8,925 stitches and 70 hours, I finished this crochet portrait of Tems. It’s my first time doing tapestry. I love you, Tems,” she wrote.

The post quickly gained traction, drawing praise from creatives and fans alike. Not long after, Tems herself spotted the work and was stunned by its quality and detail.

“Yo this is unbelievable. You are incredible! I NEED IT RIGHT NOWWW. Can I buy it please?” Tems replied.

But instead of just purchasing the artwork, Tems went a step further — sending ₦3 million to the artist as a token of appreciation.

The heartfelt exchange has since gone viral, with many Nigerians praising Tems not only for acknowledging talent but for using her platform to uplift a young entrepreneur.

Social Media Reactions:

“Tems is such a kind soul. Some celebrities would’ve ignored this.”
“This is what supporting small businesses looks like. Big ups to Tems!”

For many, the story is a reminder of how talent, humility, and community support can align to create life-changing moments — even in a single tweet.

Tems, who has become a global face of Nigerian music, continues to prove that her influence goes beyond the studio — and that generosity remains a powerful form of leadership.
