What’s the Dress Code?
Wimbledon sticks to tradition. Players must wear all white, and that includes socks, shoes, and even underwear for men. A hint of color might fly on practice courts—but not during official play.
Spectators don’t have a strict dress code, but smart attire is encouraged—especially for those seated on Centre Court or in the Royal Box, where formality is expected.
What’s New in 2025?
This year, Wimbledon joins other Slams in ditching line judges. All calls will be made by automated electronic systems, though a few human officials will remain courtside for support.
Why Strawberries and Cream?
Forget burgers and beer—Wimbledon is all about British strawberries with fresh cream. It’s a tradition that goes back over a century.
During the tournament, fans consume:
- 28,000 kg of strawberries
- 7,000+ litres of cream
All fruit is freshly picked from Kent farms, just hours before serving.
Who Holds the Records?
- Martina Navratilova leads the women with 9 singles titles and 20 overall Wimbledon trophies.
- Roger Federer is king of the men’s side with 8 singles titles.

How to Get Tickets?
Missed the public ballot? No problem.
Wimbledon is one of the few major events where fans can still queue up for tickets on the day. The famous Wimbledon Queue often starts the night before, with fans camping along Church Road.
Tickets are sold one per person in line, and cannot be transferred.
Prize Money in 2025
Wimbledon’s prize purse this year is a record-breaking $72.6 million, up 7% from last year.
- Men’s and Women’s Singles Champions: $4.08 million each
- First Round Participants: $89,683 minimum
This increase comes after players pushed for a bigger slice of Grand Slam revenues.
